LIONEL MESSI LEAVING FC BARCELONA AFTER HISTORIC CAREER WITH CLUB

The only path for Messi to carry on would likely have already been for the player to have a significant spend cut so the club can manage his wages. Since it stands, Barcelona’s immense debt of over 1 thousand euroes – the consequence of recent efforts to change the squad following the coronavirus pandemic and failures both in La Liga and the Winners Group – make it impossible for Messi to stay.

Messi claimed he agreed to have a 50% spend cut, which would have paid off his wage from roughly $1.4 million per week to just $700,000 per week – a wage that would however dwarf that of very nearly any player.

Messi is a person in the initial staff since making his debut a teenager in 2004. He observed the immense change this brings for his family, since it means going from a spot they’ve always known as home.

“It would have been a difficult change, but we need it and move ahead,” Messi said.

He further stated that photographs of herself with PSG people in Ibiza were only coincidence and not at all indicative of his goals – particularly since it happened before La Liga made clear he could not enjoy for Barcelona.
